Flood Victim Support
Due to heavy rains and flash floods, a devastating flood occurred in Northern part of Bangladesh during May-June 2024. Thousands of people in Northern Bengal were trapped by floodwaters and forced to live in inhumane conditions. In such a situation, Center for Zakat Management (CZM) stood by the flood-affected people.
CZM distributed relief materials worth approximately 1.8 million Taka to a total of 1,090 families. In the initial phase, on July 10, relief materials were distributed to 470 families in Kodalkathi Union and 120 families in Rajibpur Sadar Union of Char Rajibpur Upazila in Kurigram District.
In the second phase, on July 12, relief materials were distributed to an additional 500 families in Mohanganj Union of Char Rajibpur Upazila in Kurigram District. In total, relief and food materials were distributed to as many as 1,090 nos. of families.
CZM will soon commence the rehabilitation of those affected by the recent floods. It is anticipated that the flood-impacted residents of the North will recover from their losses and resume normal life shortly.
